grants and distributions

Opawa Rangitoto 2C Incorporation develops and manages the financial investment strategy on behalf of the owners. The majority of the funds are accumulated from the lease agreements and this putea is largely allocated to the following areas: distributions (to owners); investment (asset growth); management (of whenua, and administration); and grants (to owners and beneficiaries).

Distributions are provided annually to owners. The grants below are available to all registered owners and beneficiaries of Opawa Rangitoto 2C. Full terms and conditions are on the application forms and all questions can be directed to Strettons (secretary).

Opawa has a formal relationship with the Maori Education Trust (MET). MET offer a significant range of scholarships. You can apply for any of MET’s scholarships if you meet their criteria through www.maorieducation.org.nz.

Education Grants are available to owners and descendants of owners studying in years 9 - 13.

Applications for 2024 can be downloaded below and close on the 20th March 2024.


tertiary study grant

Tertiary Grants are available to Opawa Rangitoto 2C shareholders and descendants of a shareholder studying at tertiary level.

SPECIAL PURPOSES GRANT

Special Purposes Grant is available to shareholders and beneficiaries of Opawa Rangitoto 2C to support a range of kaupapa not under the criteria of other grants.

Iapeta Robert Morehu Scholarship

The Iapeta Robert Morehu Scholarship is available to students who show outstanding achievement in their pursuit of excellence.

Applications will reopen in 2024.


 

SPECIAL PURPOSES GRANt SMALL BUSINESS START-UP

Special Purposes Grant Small Business Start-Up is available to shareholders and beneficiaries of Opawa Rangitoto 2C seeking to enter into a small business venture and needing some help.

TRUST POWER SCHOLARSHIP

The Trust Power Scholarship is available to students studying in the area of Environmental Planning, Management or Ecology.

kaumatua grants

Opawa Rangitoto 2C Incorporation distributes an annual $500 Kaumatua Grant to registered shareholders / owners who are 65 years and over.

 

 

Tangihanga and unveilings

Opawa Rangitoto 2C Incorporation provides owners with Tangihanga and Unveiling Grants.
